Father’s Day is a time to express love and gratitude. This year, our coworkers chose Father’s Day for our second special building fund offering, which carries a unique significance. On this day we not only thank the fathers and brothers who have worked hard for their families, but also remember the perfect love of our Heavenly Father and respond to His calling together. Offering to the Bethel Hall building project on Father’s Day is our way of expressing gratitude and love, and it is a testimony pleasing to God.
As shared before, the building project requires two permits: a design permit from the Planning Department and a construction permit. This past Tuesday, the city government held an internal hearing, and many brothers and sisters prayed earnestly beforehand. Following a strict review of our design proposal and the surrounding traffic environment, the Planning Department verbally approved our design and granted the planning permit. Praise the Lord! The next step is to complete construction drawings and apply for the construction permit. At the same time, we are moving forward with the selection of materials and the design of key features, including doors, flooring, locks, the cross, church signage, as well as the sound, lighting, and large screen systems. Through these steps, we continue to see God’s mercy and faithfulness at work among us. Let us remain steadfast in prayer, offering, and service as we participate in this holy work.
Recently, NVIDIA announced plans to expand its headquarters campus just 0.9 miles—only a three-minute drive—from our church. NVIDIA represents the height of AI, computing power, and human creativity. Yet we know that while humankind can create great technologies—even towers like Babel—it cannot save souls. Technology advances rapidly, but morality declines; no invention can fill the desperate emptiness of the human heart. In contrast, “ the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. ” God establishes His Church to bring healing to the land. This is our mission: to proclaim the Lord’s name, to bring people before Him, to live out holy lives, and to be salt and light in this generation. NVIDIA is expanding, and we too are expanding—not for profit or market, but for people: for the salvation of souls, for God’s house, and for generations to come who will fear and worship Him.
Silicon Valley has always been home to companies driving global innovation. Intel once flourished, NVIDIA is thriving now, and greater companies will surely arise in the future. Yet all these things will pass away. As Scripture says: “ The world and its desires pass away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever ” (1 John 2:17). The church, however, is God’s house, “ the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15), and it will endure forever. Silicon Valley is also a crossroads of cultures, races, and ideas. It is no accident that God has placed us here in the very heart of future technological development. The site at 3131 Bowers is to be a house of worship for generations, filled with God’s glory. Nor is it an accident that each of us has been placed in this church. God has a special plan and purpose for SVCA, and we are blessed to be part of His work, living stones in His temple. This is His grace and blessing for us all.
Will you respond to the Father’s love? When we give, it is not because God lacks anything, but because we choose to express our love and declare that our hearts belong to Him. Every offering is an act of gratitude; every sacrifice is a testimony of faith.
