United in Heart, Building God’s House

— A Report on the Bethel Sanctuary Cleanup

Media Ministry · 2025-12

The cleanup originally expected eighty volunteers, but more than 160 brothers and sisters came—an unexpected grace that showed the unity and joyful offering of God’s household.

A Willing Offering: “I don’t have much money, but I can do the heavy lifting.”

What moved so many to give up their weekend to carry heavy items? A campus fellowship sister said, “I don’t have much money, so I can only come and do the hard labor.” A Newark sister shared, “Like in Nehemiah—everyone builds in their own way. God counts us worthy; we just want to show up.” A Fremont sister said, “I want to contribute to the new sanctuary so I can be proud later.” A brother added, “This is God’s building project; we should all be involved.” From young adults to seniors, everyone came not just to clear junk, but to respond to God’s call.

A Beautiful Picture: “All ministries serving as one.”

The event became a vivid picture of “each part doing its work.” Preparation was careful—from Brother Jinghu’s overall plan to on-site coordination by brothers Xiao Fei, Liao Xinlian, and Jiao Yuan—ensuring everything stayed orderly. On site, people served eagerly. Sisters from the Rainbow Fellowship said, “People were competing for jobs!” Sister Karen noted that “everyone kept asking what else they could do.” A newcomer brother was impressed to see “many sisters hauling heavy items.” Kevin from the English congregation said it was “a rare moment when all church ministries served toward one goal.” Working side by side, the shared joy became a clear sign of God’s presence.

A Moving Moment: “I cannot take this blessing away from my child.”

Among the workers, many noticed a small boy—about four or five—quietly carrying electronic waste by himself. His effort reminded everyone of the hope of spiritual inheritance. A mother who brought her child said, “Children learn by seeing, not by hearing. We experienced the joy of serving, and my child felt it too. I cannot take away the blessing God wants to give him.”

A Starting Point: “This is only the beginning.”

When the final load was removed, the cleared space emerged. The brothers and sisters didn’t just finish the job—they exceeded expectations. Their love for God’s house turned a heavy task into a joyful offering. Yet this is only the beginning. The coming demolition and rebuilding will still require prayer, giving, and hands-on help. This cleanup did more than clear old items; it strengthened the “inner temple” within us. We glimpsed the future of Bethel Church—today’s sweat becoming tomorrow’s harvest. “The will of God will surely be fulfilled!” declared sisters from the Rainbow Fellowship. More than 160 brothers and sisters served in unity, responding to God with one heart: Amen!
